Tom Mackay, a leading City solicitor, created FISMA (as a not for profit organisation) in order to promote, encourage and assist those involved with entrepreneurial activity through out the UK.

Tom is also the individual behind Tom´s Law (www.tomslaw.com) a web site intended to serve the public interest by providing draft legal documents that may prove useful to all those involved in the process of raising capital. Previously Tom held positions as head of Legal at both the London Stock Exchange and 3i plc.

FiSMA is a not-for-profit organisation, helping entrepreneurs communicate with investors.

Entrepreneurs can promote their investment ideas through FiSMA to self-certified investors. When their proposals go on the web site an email with the investment summary is sent to FiSMA registered members. Contact details for the entrepreneur (or his adviser) and documents relating to the proposal remain accessible on the web site for 120 days.

So in summary FiSMA helps:

Entrepreneurs present their business proposals to serious investors. (Providing
you are comfortable with using a computer
it is easy to post your proposal to the web site.)
Investors find new investment opportunities.
Advisers provide their clients with an alternative method of raising equity finance.

There is a £100 charge for posting investment proposals on this web site. Payments online are made through HSBC's secure facility. There are no other costs of using the services. See clause 9 of the Terms & Conditions for full details.
